Alex Dron
Alex Dron is the creator/designer and animator of FOT & AnguS. Alex has over 10 years experience directing, designing and animating commercials for Yukfoo Animation in Auckland, New Zealand.
Dron first created FOT in 2007 with the short, FOT-champion of the world which was featured on Motionographer, Stash DVD, Cold Hard flash, No-Fat clips and won Channel Frederator’s cartoon of the month. Dron followed this up with the Creative NZ funded short ‘FOT-the next big thing’, which introduced Rhys Darby as the voice of FOT and went to show at over 30 international festivals including Comic-con, and several Academy accredited festivals including; LA Shorts Fest, St Louis IFF and the Austin FF. In 2010 FOT & AnguS appeared as a series of shorts in the New Zealand animation/live action skit show ‘Radiradirah’ and was distributed online by Mondo media. FOT & AnguS are now being translated into German.
Karl Wills is the co-writer for FOT & AnguS. Karl’s comic strips have appeared in various Fantagraphics anthologies including Peter Bagges's HATE, Hotwire and Dirty Stories as well as Pavement (NZ), Nambanga (Japan) and Vice Magazine(US). His most successful comic “Jessica of the Schoolyard” sold mostly in the USA and the UK through selected stores (now out of print). Karl has worked on animated commercials and other television projects, notably Media Dog with Anthony Ellison.
Rhys Darby
Rhys Darby first gained attention in the United States as Murray in HBO's ‘Flight of the Conchords’. An ex-soldier in the New Zealand Army and a veteran of fifteen years as a standup comedian, Darby made his feature film debut in Yes Man. He went on to feature as one of the DJ's in ‘Pirate Radio’. He has since completed two lead roles in romantic comedies, Coming and Going opposite Sasha Alexander (NCIS) and ‘Lovebirds’ opposite Golden Globe winner Sally Hawkins. Darby has joined the cast of ‘How to be a Gentleman’ (CBS) premiering in the USA this September.
Phil Dron
Phil is an award winning illustrator and artist/designer on FOT and Angus. He currently works for Ninja Kiwi as a designer and animator.
